( @amyahhhh Probably, but it's still a good one.)STARSHIP TROOPERS by Robert Heinlein--no finer example of the importance of never judging a book by its movie. JOHN BROWN: ABOLITIONIST by David S. Reynolds. History never gave him a fair shake--I may not agree with *every*thing he did, but I maintain he was one of the most perceptive men of his time. IT by Stephen King. Read it cover to cover at least three times since I was a kid, and each time noticed more and more details I'd missed on previous reads that added to the tale and to the greater, overarching King literary universe. One of these days, maybe I'll sit down and watch the second movie (although sounds disappointing...). Three things you'd like to accomplish before the end of the summer...? |

One of these days, I suppose I need to try Loco Moco, but I think I'll hold off until/if I'm ever in Hawaii. The Muffaletta they make at Central Grocery & Deli in New Orleans. Osso Bucco, but since I generally don't eat veal (as a guideline, I won't eat anything I'm not willing to kill myself), made instead with beef shanks. If I can be general (because I don't usually hold distaste for specific songs, just artists), all talylor swift, any edgy pop that I listened to circa sixth grade (numb little bug, city of angels, stuff like that), and lo-fi music because I listened to so much of it that if i hear it playing in public I can usually identify the name of the song and the artist.
