@LuvCookies The leading string is what actually shows and is knotted into the base strings. In this pattern, there are 9 strings (8 base strings + 1 leading string). The base strings in this pattern are white whole the FIRST leading string is on row 1 and is the light brown (then it transitions into dark brown).
