The last book I read was “Augusta Pine Does Not Exist” by Emily Lloyd-Jones. It was hilarious.

GREAT EXPECTATIONS, by Charles Dickens. Meh. Having perused some of his other works, I guess I just thought it'd've been better. |

@GiuseppeK I guess those “Great Expectations” weren’t met 😄 The last book I read was “Parasite” by Darcy Coates. I really enjoyed the concept, but I wish it was developed upon better. The story line felt sort of disjointed and the end was incredibly anticlimactic. I’m currently reading The Prophet Song by Paul Lynch and it’s… certainly something. If anyone needs to reinforce the idea that grammar rules exist for a reason, please read this book! I know it’s intentional to set up a “mysterious tone” or whatever but there are better ways to do that than not using paragraph breaks, using incredibly weird sentence structures, foregoing quotation marks, and having run-on sentences that have decided to branch off and try out a triathlon. I’m not even joking, a single sentence was A PAGE AND A HALF LONG.

Second form at Malory Towers by Enid Blyton. It was good except I was kind of surprised that some of the characters were very mean.

@blackcat79 Quotation marks are something we don't appreciate nearly enough until we don't have them any longer. I once tried listening to Tolstoy's ANNA KARENINA while rowing, but gave up pretty quickly. Given the sheer amount of characters with whom we need to keep up and with just how dialogue-heavy the story gets, it wasn't functioning at all as radio drama.

@GiuseppeK Definitely, it gets really difficult to figure out who is speaking 😭 I unfortunately cannot abandon this book since I’m reading it for AP Lang, so I guess I just need to make it through lol

The School For Good And Evil #6. I thought it had some good plot twists, and it was very detailed. I also just reread Warriors: A Starless Clan book 1 and 2, and they were both very good! I've actually reread that whole Warriors series about 3-5 times, but I always get lost in Starless Clan. This helped me a lot!

@iplayflute Yeah, I read them out of order first too. They are really good, it's just so hard to figure out the order unless you know how to find it! (On the backs of the newer versions of the books they have the order) Its also hard to figure out the order of the super editions, because they don't have an order unless you google it. But yes, they are really good! You're on the third book, forest of secrets right?

@iplayflute yeah. It gets even more confusing with Sophie in the last few books. But yeah, its almost like Tedros is just wanting to be difficult.

@iplayflute Yeah. Sophie is a good character, but she practically steals everybody's boyfriends. If you realize, all her boyfriends start with R.
