What's your favourite weird tool for bracelet making?

One of the things that I love about bracelet making is that it can be a relatively inexpensive craft/hobby and that you don't need any specialised tools, equipment, or supplies. That being said, what's your favourite weird tool(s) that you use when making your bracelets? I use a dental pick to untie knots. It's a long plastic handle (about the length of a toothbrush) with a small metal hook at the end. Like the ones used by dentists for your cleaning. Don't worry, it's only used for bracelets! LOL. I stick the tip into an eraser when I store it so that it doesn't poke through my bag (or my finger). When I make alphas I wrap my background thread onto a tatting shuttle. It slips through much more easily than the cardboard squares and doesn't unwind if you accidentally drop it. The small ones can just about hold a whole skein of floss. The bigger ones will hold it easily. What's your favourite weird tool? Sockkat |

The hook from my rainbow loom. I use it to fully pull out a wrong knot after picking at it with a needle.

I don't know if it's weird but I use a Seam Ripper for unpicking knots. I also use Electrical/Insulating Tape for taping down the braceletes(😂) as its the only tape I have used where the strings don't slide out.

my thread kit from amazon came with embroidery tools. i use one of them to pick out knots when i make a mistake

Probably tape and my safety pin. I use tape and my clipboard to hold down my bracelet and then use a safety pin to take out knots.

I use clips to hold it down to a book bc I’m allergic to tape touching my skin which is odd. 😂

This isn't that weird but I use a hair straightener to iron out my bracelets before taking photos!

@syd643 I also have a seam ripper that I use sometimes, but the dental pick has a finer tip and a circular shape that slides in between the knot more easily and is less likely to accidentally cut or fray the threads.

I usually use tape to secure my bracelet and a safety pin to get knots out but right now I’m using the safety pin to attach the bracelet to a pillow I don’t use so I can sit in a comfier chair and put the pillow on my lap and use my chromebook to display patterns too big to print and I’ve been using blankets to hold it up on top of a dog cage. Prob to undo knots when safety pin is in use I’ll use a paper clip or needle

I have this little stitch counter thing that's meant for kitting that I use to help count out strings for bigger alphas.

I use a clipboard to secure my bracelet and also a pencil to untie any knots where I have made mistakes!

Not sure if it's weird or uncommon but i have a magnet that i use so i don't loose the needles i use to untie the knots and a safety pin 😄

If I’m taking a bracelet to school, I usually pin it to my pants or I tape it on my computer case lol

So I take safety pins to unravel wrong knots. For keeping smaller bracelets in place a clipboard and for bigger ones and alphas I tape them down. To keep the leading thread of Alpha's organized I use wooden spools(like the ones for sewing). And some other juwelery stuff when I attach charms or chains to a bracelet.
