@Thatwierdo oops, I meant the string sticking out in the even rows makes a bf knot on the left and an fb knot on the right onto the extra strings. The uneven rows are not affected 🙂

But what do I do in row 13?

@Thatwierdo you leave the pattern how it is. You change none of the original knots. You add an extra string on the left and on the right. In the uneven rows where you can see the strings sticking out in the pattern you do a bf knot on the very left and a fb knot on the very right.

Yes, you just need to add an extra string on either side @Thatwierdo

Can you use it with pattern #48844 ?

Do you mean how to do triangle ends or whatever you want to do after the loop? Instead of makinf f knots on the left you do bf knots and instead of b knots on the right you do fb knots. @Thatwierdo

How can you use the straight edge technique with loops?

Thank you for the tutorial! It is really helping me make my bracelets and especially alphas straight!

@Stbmaker45 I'm not sure if fb knots on the left and bf knots on the right will also help keep the bracelet straight. The edge will definitely look different.
If you want to do the straight edges technique for this pattern you can either change all the knots at the edge to bf knotss on the left and fb knots on the right. This will change the colours of the knots at the edge. The rest of the pattern will stay the same. Or you could add an extra string. It's up to you.
