@pretty_boy this is more than two years late but maybe you'll still find it helpful! Normal knots are a little longer than they are wide, just like halokiwi said, but if you use thicker base strings, it makes the knots square! It makes a huge difference in wall-hanging patterns, they don't end up elongated if you use thicker base strings but normal leading string 🙂
