@T-Shark I haven't made it yet because I just wanted to create a pattern and uploaded that, and recently I've rather been in the mood for other types of art, not knots stuff. But maybe I will make it one day (:
@T-Shark I think you might be referring to the straight edges technique where you do bf knots on the left edge and fb knots on the right edge. It creates smoother edges and new leading strings that are inserted as the first knot of a row won't stick out. MashaKnots' also explains this technique in her video on the flat alpha technique.
But this should only be an issue for the very first and very last knot of this pattern even if you don't use the straight edges technique.
If this is about old or new leading strings poking out of the knot when making colour switches on the last or first knot of a row, MashaKnots also explains that you need to do a regular colour switch there instead of a flat alpha colour switch.
No, I haven’t but I’ve seen photos of beginners doing alpha and when you put it in through the side, it always leaves a little string. How do you make it look like there’s no string going in through the side
Have you tied an alpha before? Have you watched MashaKnots' video on the flat alpha technique or another video by her or someone else on how to tie alphas?
@T-Shark I think it's the perfect alpha for a beginner. It's just two colours. 2 colours is recommended for your first alpha. It's a little more base strings than is usually recommended but I think it will be fine.
If you are really worried about the base strings, you could try #29169 which is only 10 base strings but I really don't think that the base strings are an issue.
If you've never made an alpha before, I recommend watching MashaKnots' video on the flat alpha technique. She explains it very well.
