@violet440 😄 it is really very easy. You should bend the odd thread just a little bit, so that it can hook onto the key ring. Then when you start knotting with the background thread, you are going to try to cover that odd bit of thread with knots. I don't know if I make myself understood well, because the English I speak / write is very poor.A good reference photo is my photo of pattern #61362. That keychain is made purely from recycled threads, and if you look closely, the light blue thread that makes the number 11 counting from left to right is odd.
