Hello! Welcome to my bracelet book profile!
A bit about me!
I am a Christian, I believe Jesus Christ came to earth, died on the cross for my sins, and rose again. Saving me from eternal separation from God and gifting me eternal life because I have accepted him as my lord and savior. His spirit is alive within me. I believe he is coming again. I believe in the truth of the gospel, and that the bible is the divinely inspired word of God for his people.
I'm an artist! I do a little bit of everything, including drawing, painting (watercolor, acrylic), sculpture, origami, and bracelets/other fiber arts. Thought painting is mainly what I do besides bracelets, mainly sticking to acrylics. I would describe my style as realism/impressionistic. Within my art I mainly do botanicals (plant life)/nature, birds (owls especially), butterflies/moths, snakes, frogs, mushrooms, snails, and other things along those lines.
'Slight' caffeine addict.
I am a senior counselor at a church camp near me. (For three years now) I absolutely love doing it, and teaching campers how to make bracelets. (I’ve been unofficially dubbed “bracelet teacher" and officially dubbed "Cabin Chaos Coordinator"). It was at this camp that I first learned bracelet making from a fellow counselor, and it stuck with me ever since.
Bracelet making has grown to be one of my favorite hobbies and pastimes, I've been doing it for 3-ish years. I enjoy puzzling out the tricky and really big patterns. I most enjoy normals with 18+ strings, the largest I've done is 42 strings. I have attempted alpha patterns a few times, but I quickly realized that I UTTERLY DESPISE them, and all they seem to do is rage-bait me. So, I don't really make them. I do want to start designing my own patterns, but I'm still getting the hang of it, I think the generator gets a kick out of bulling me.
I go through stretches where I won't make a bracelet for months, and I'll pick it back up again and make a ton of bracelets until I'm burned out again. (so, I'm not always the most efficient crafter). Same goes for painting and stuff.
A few other hobbies I enjoy are hiking, foraging, mushroom hunting, rockhounding, creative writing, and binging tv shows (that counts right?)
I do plan on selling my bracelets online, and I'm hoping to get an Etsy shop opened at some point. (well see if I ever follow through on that, Ive heard Etsy can be more trouble than It's worth), I am a vendor in a small co-op shop in the town that I live in, so I am selling locally. Ive done one craft fair already, and I would love to do more/ sell at farmers markets. At the moment, the only place I'm selling online is through Instagram DMs. I do post my bracelets and current projects on my Instagram, which is lord.of.the.strings_bracelets, go check it out if you are so inclined! Any support is greatly appreciated, as I'm still a super small creator. If you are interested in buying, you can DM me on my Instagram! I do take custom orders, or you can inquire about bracelets posted on my page. (some say "for sale" in the description") Not all of them will be available for purchase.
I have a separate Instagram for my other art like painting and such, and that is neva_botanical_arts, if you want to check that out too.
I love getting friend requests, and I seeing what other people create! I'm not super active on here, but I'm on frequently enough to see notifications in a somewhat timely manner. ❤️
And yes, I know have an obscenely long to-do list :') feel free to raid it if you'd like
