So I was making this cute little Louis Vuitton bracelet and then I realized that I made a knot of the wrong color! I knew if someone looked at it they probably wouldn’t be able to notice but I knew it would bother me for the rest of my life if I didn’t fix it. Unfortunately, it was too far up for me to untie to fix. So if you have a bracelet with a wrong color knot that’s too far up to fix, this is for you! I’m using this alpha bracelet as an example, but it works for normal bracelets too.
The only supplies you’ll need are your bracelet, a needle, some glue, a pair of scissors, and a short (and I mean REALLY short-only a couple of inches) piece of thread that’s the color you want the knot to be.
So the first thing you need to do is just thread your needle. It’s better if you have a needle with a really large eye so it’s easier to thread. A lot of times those have blunt ends, and that’s okay too because you don’t actually need to sew through anything; you’ll be going between the threads.
You can see in the first picture that the first logo on the bracelet should have had two light brown knots on the leftmost point so that it would match the rightmost point, but I accidentally did only one light brown. I need to change it from dark to light brown. With your threaded needle come up through the bottom of the bracelet right below the knot you want to fix. For normal bracelets you can come up right below the knot, but for alphas you’ll have to come up below and a little to the right.
So after you pull the thread through, take your glue and put a TINY dot on the knot you want to fix. It’s really easy to go way overboard here. Make sure you only put enough to cover the dot. I had a mini bottle of glue, but you can still see how little the glue dot is compared to the opening of the bottle.
Take your needle and go back down on top of the knot. Again, if it’s a normal bracelet, you can go down right on top of the knot. If it’s alpha, go down on the top and a little to the right.
Pull both ends of the thread from the back of the bracelet so that the thread lays on top of the knot and hugs it tight from the front. Tie a knot on the back. You want this knot to be really tight so that the fake knot doesn’t look bigger than the ones next to it. Cut off the extra string.
And... that’s it! You’re done! The knot will now be the correct color and it won’t be too noticeable that you made a mistake.
