To make the dangling part of the ribbon you have to cut two strings that you will use together to slip knot onto the bracelet (in the middle) and then on the left you do ten forward backward knots, on the right two strings you do ten backward forward knots. The actual bracelet only requires 8 strings, the dark purple in this pattern represents the dangling part of the ribbon
