[OFFICIAL] June/July 2026 Bi-Weekly Challenge, Weeks 4 & 1

Hi everyone! I'm really excited to post our bi-weekly challenge!

→ WHAT TO KNOW ←

[⁌] For completing this challenge and receiving a reward you need to submit a photo of a *finished* bracelet/keychain/creation

[⁌] ”finished* means that your creation is completed and it is obvious that no more work needs to be done with finished endings

[⁌] You will get 1 reward for each creation you make of this week's challenge patterns (So if you make 3 challenge bracelets/keychains/creations, you will receive 3 rewards.)

[⁌] You are also free to use any colors of your choosing

[⁌] Don't forget to add the word "challenge" in the photo!

[⁌] You can submit a maximum of 10 bracelets/keychains for the same pattern

[⁌] Bracelets, keychains, cross stitch, crochet and other types of creations are accepted as long as it is identifiable to the pattern you are submitting to, finished, and handmade by you

*REWARDS are the little number next to your avatar on your profile.

**This challenge is open to anyone and everyone! No need to ask to join**

Hm. Going forward, perhaps 24-string normal monsters that aren't intended to neatly divide into complementary pairs can also count as two points?

@GiuseppeK each item, no matter the size, gives only one reward. A big wallhanging gives as many rewards as a small earring. Giving different amounts of rewards for differently sized items would make giving rewards more difficult, because you would not only need to consider how many strings the pattern has but also how many rows were tied etc. 2 people tying the same 24-string normal might still create two items of very different sizes. Maybe one of them makes a keychain and the other makes a guitar strap.

@halokiwi Fair enough. But if the patterns for these challenges are specifically selected in order to garner photos of the finished products (be they earrings or guitar straps), such a thing might give potential knotters a bit more incentive to add them to their To-Dos? For example, it's tough not to notice the disparity with the June 2026 official challenge: the photo sections of the two 24-stringers, as of this moment, remain at 0 while the others are quite well represented with entries.

@GiuseppeK patterns with more strings are generally tied more rarely, be it because of the time and material they take or simply because of the skills they require compared to smaller patterns. I don't think giving more rewards evens it out completely.

If someone made a short item from a 24 strings pattern and someone else made a long item that's more than double the length from a 12 string pattern, the 24 string person would get more rewards if your suggestion was implemented despite having done less work. I don't think this would be really fair.

In the end everyone has to decide for themselves whether or not it is worth it to them to tie a bigger pattern despite only earning one reward for it. Patterns that are part of a challenge might also be added to to-dos and only be tied after the challenge is already over. Getting rewards helps motivate users to tie the pattern but by checking out the patterns of the official challenges, users might discover patterns that they like that they otherwise wouldn't have discovered. It's not just about the rewards, it's also about the exposure of older patterns.

@Charli_126 You get one reward per creation, not per photo. You can make the same pattern up to 10 times. 🙂
