Alpha Wall Hanging?

Hello! I would really like to make a big alpha that I could hang on my wall from a wooden dowel. (Kind of like a tapestry) Has anyone here done that before and knows how to start it that way or have a link to a video on this topic? On pattern #18215 a user posted a gorgeous picture of an alpha started that way (for visual). Thanks! 😊

@emi_89 That’s weird, I just tried it now and it worked for me. Anyways, if you go to the tutorials section of braceletbook, you should be able to find it if you search up “lark” in the keywords.

Do you mean for a large pattern? In that case you just need a longer dowel and cut the strings to the right length

@peaches933 you could honestly start it the same way you start a small one just with more starting threads. (using the youtube tutorial at the top of this page) Or you could look into learning how to weave? Or macrame? Those two are usually easier to make on a bigger scale than alphas

You could also make a massive tapestry without dowels (like akaawol on https://youtu.be/oRXZcH2Vy0g?si=z0ZBtcSxsiz5GGov); he set the base strings on another string rather than a dowel so that the end-product can be thrown into a washing machine in the future if needed.
