My brother is 12 I’m 14 and he is taller than me! No I’m not that short unless you count being 5’ 3” 3/4 tall!

All of my siblings were half siblings. Mom had buried her first husband, and I was my father's only child. While I get it now, at the time it was difficult to understand why it never felt like I was ever fully accepted as one of the pack (getting saddled with a different last name didn't ameliorate matters any). I was too young and stupid to comprehend that I was a constant reminder that their father was gone, and I was some imposition brought into the fold by a man they detested. So none of the perks of belonging, yet it never stopped teachers and various other authority figures in my formative years from invoking the names of my rock star predecessors whenever they could use it to put me in my place. "I have difficulty believing YOU'RE the little brother of ________" / "*I* expected a little more from the brother of ________." So not that they were ever aware, but in some regards, the resentment could cut both ways. |

@MidnightTH wow boys do tend to be taller then girls, but that's crazy (considering i'm only 5 1¼ and the second tallest in the house)

Well, what makes everything worse is that both my grandfather’s are like 6ft and it definitely clear I’m not going past 5’4”! I got the short genes from my aunt. Well at least I’m not as short as my second cousin. I think she’s like 4’9” or something similar.

@amyahhhh Well is it better than your uncle and aunt living somewhere else and almost never talk to you or they visit family that is 2hrs from your house and don’t even tell that they are passing by, and because they hate your grandmother just bc their views are different?!

I can't complain about siblings but it does suck having every single member of my family besides my parents on the other half of the globe. 8 hour time difference and I travel there usually around daylight savings so i get 3 daylight savings per year. Also there is the expected language barrier (losing one of your first languages over time really sucks) and I don't really know any of them that well. Ah well, there's no use in complaining when i can't change it, i'm glad we have technology that helps us communicate and the ability to travel at all :]

@bugs_b1te I feel you- my dad’s side is scattered all around the country and I usually only see most of my cousins for three days a year if I’m lucky. My mom’s side is overseas so we don’t see them very often either and there’s also a language barrier 🙁 As I’ve grown, my hold on my second language has been slipping and it’s really sad but idk how to stop it

My sister legit hates me. She makes it known and sometimes I can’t be in a certain room because of her. When she cries my dad takes her side and then my mom takes mine. I’m four years older and yet we clash so badly. At least my sister who is one year younger doesn’t hate me but honestly it’s sooo hard
