I would love some recommended books! I love fantasy fiction, and some books I love are-Warriors By Erin Hunter(Or just her books) Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland The Guardians of Dawn Cinder and that whole series by Melissa Meyer Verity Vox and the curse of Foxfire by Don Martin Little House on The Prairie By Luara Ingalls And a lot of other books! IT by Stephen King. Read it cover to cover at least three times over the years (the first time, I was probably way too young), and never failed to pick up on details I'd missed on previous reads that added to the tapestry of the story and the overarching King universe.STARSHIP TROOPERS by Robert A. Heinlein. No finer example of the importance of never judging a book by its movie. THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO by Alexandre Dumas. JOHN BROWN, ABOLITIONIST by David S. Reynolds. While I don't agree with *every*thing he did, I maintain the hot take that he was one of the most perceptive men of his time, and that history never gave him a fair shake. Haven't read them all yet, but I'm a pretty big fan of the OG Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and can't go wrong with Edgar Allan Poe (LOVE "The Cask of Amontillado"; I can nearly recite it verbatim). |

I really likeScary stories for young foxes and scary stories for young foxes the city by Christian McKay Heidicker Dragon ops 1 and 2 by Mari Mancusi Keeper of the lost city by Shannon Messenger And Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger All of those are really good, i definitely recommend scary stories for young foxes, it's such a good book!! |

Some books I love are:- "The White Stallion of Lipizza", and "Brighty of the Grand Canyon" (and pretty much every other book written by Marguerite Henry) - "The Chronicles of Narnia", and "The Space Trilogy" both by C. S. Lewis - "The Lord of the Rings", and "The Hobbit" by Tolkien - "The Dark is Rising Sequence" by Susan Cooper - Anything written by Beverly Cleary - "The Wise Woman" by George MacDonald, and many other of his stories - "Ghost Knight" by Cornelia Funke And other assorted obscure books and stories.stories Is anyone here familiar with "Asterix the Warrior"? |

The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy - An absurd SciFi CLASSIC, its hilarious and very entertaining, they even made an absolutely incredible TV series! The Audiobook adaptations are to die for. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet - incredible book about the end of the world and angel and a demon very unqualified trying to stop it, emotional, exciting and very well written Anything by Michel Mirpurgo, Ive read nearly all his books but my personal favourites are "Why the Whales Came", "Running Wild", "Mr. Nobody's Eyes" and "Alone in the wide Wide Sea", all fantastic reads! Historical fiction that always includes animals as symbolism |

I adore all of Holly Jackson's books if you're into crime thriller/murder mysteries, and I quite enjoyed the Guest list by Lucy Foley although some people thought it was predictable. I think Yellowface by R.F Kuang is incredibly funny and a seriously good critique, and her prose is stunning so I am sure all her other books are good. Animal Farm holds a very special place in my heart as well as Frankenstein. If anyone likes splatterpunk, Aron Beauregard's Playground was horrifying (I think splatterpunk is a bit too edgy for me lol), do not read if you're under the age of like 18 tbh. I've also loved Daisy Jones & The Six as well as the seven husbands of evelyn hugo, taylor jenkins reid also has amazing prose. I deeply enjoyed the hunger games as a 14 year old. I also thought the handmaid's tale and it's sequel the testaments were really good. I do love a good autobiography like Adam Kay's This is going to hurt, Beautiful Boy, and Jennette McCurdy's I'm glad my mum died. I know these are plays, but they can be read as I experienced them for the first time through reading; Macbeth, An Inspector Calls & Blood Brothers are all really good. Also, I love Twilight-I don't care that it's corny, sue me, I think it's pretty good. I also love chic lit/slice of life like tell me lies, the devil wears prada and it's sequel (I still need to read the third!). I like romances but the twisted kind because of the psychological aspect, so they have to be well written, and I consider them more as horrors rather than romances, for example You. But again, sue me, I though Ana Huang's Twisted series was fun. The duality of man amirite. Anyway such a ramble lol, I love reading! Anyone on Storygraph?

@Paws14 Omg stop I loved all of those books/authors so much when I was a kid too! Have you ever read Jacqueline Wilson's books? They're incredible imo, handle such sensitive topics with so much grace and empathy

@Emmaloves I haven't read any of Jacqueline Wilson's books, but I just did some research about her and I'm interested in reading her books. Maybe next I go to the bookstore I will try and see if they have it there. Which book you recommend me to read first?

@Paws14 Ooh, seeing that you're 15 you might want to go for one of her older books. From memory, I think 'my sister jodie', 'love frankie' the 'girls' series, 'vicky angel' or 'kiss' would be good for your age, those have older M/Cs and are a bit more serious. Some of her other books which I love are 'Katy', 'lily alone' 'cookie' 'candyfloss', 'secrets' 'the worst thing about my sister' but I think those protagonists are a bit younger so you probably won't enjoy those as much, but maybe check em out as they're still fun! They're kinda serious but as they're from a younger POV you see through the rose tinted glasses with them. But to be warned, these books do cover heavy topics which can be triggering so please check the book contents before you read them if that's something that causes you concern. Feel free to message me if you have any questions abt triggers, I have read the majority of her books so I should be able to tell you! Some of her very famous characters/series are Tracy Beaker and Hetty Feather which also have TV shows! Keep in mind she's a British author so all her books are set in England (unless stayed otherwise)!
