Personally, 12-16 strings are the Goldilocks "Just Right™" amount for normals. When it comes to alphas, I tend to shy away from anything beyond 25 base strings.Pragmatic reasons, for the most part: I've found that the majority of customers want bracelets, not gauntlets. |

I prefer 10-16 since that’s the amount I can fit onto my d ring keychain to make alpha keychain lol

12 is my personal favorite for working with and wearing/giving away, but 20-26 is also a good sweet spot with the right patterns & focus.

I usually like 8-12 for normal bracelets, but for alphas, I won't (normally) go past 25

For practicality in actually wearing my projects, I like 10-14 strings. It's also great how quickly they come together! But I kind of prefer making 14-16 as that offers a bit more of a challenge. I've done a few 18-20 and they were really fun but I don't like how thick they are as actually bracelets and I guess I could use them as book marks but I prefer just remembering the page number. This is all for normal patterns!
