Personally I would say alphas are easier because the knots are always the same even thought you change colour.

alphas, i always mess up whenever i make them and i think a 18 string normal somehow seems so much bigger than an 18 string alpha

I like normals because they just tend to flow better and with more speed when I knot

I just made my first two alphas, and I think i'll always stay on the side of normals just because of color switching. Normals also make more sense to me in general

I like alphas, but normals take so much shorter. I can’t really decide bc I like both(except 1212 knot structures)!

Normals! I find knotting them more fun, especially with segment knotting + I just find color changes in alphas so tedious (especially with a lot of colors). Still, you can do some cooler designs with alphas!

I like normal patterns better because they are easier to take with me to places. I also like how I can memorize the pattern but for alphas I have to be able to look at the pattern the whole time.
