@knot_girl see that is a problem that almost every single character in mythology has faced... They go to the Oracle, who tells them that something bad will happen. The character then goes out of their way to keep that bad thing from happening, which in the process makes the bad thing happen. With that, i think that the logical answer to this question would be to do nothing. Unless the item shows you many possible futures, then there is a very fair chance that the bad thing would happen. The future automatically accounts for what you do which then most likely makes the bad thing happen no matter what. Does that make sense?? Trust me, this is a subject i have thought about far to often...
