I'm a serious perfectionist and it's something I'm actively working on. I've started a few bracelets, but I've never ended up finishing them. About halfway thru, I get upset and can't find the motivation to continue. Any help would be appreciated because I actually want to finish something 😭

Bro I’m a perfectionist too 😭😭 honestly, I’m not good at giving advice but what I do is choose a pattern I reallyyyyy love and I try my best to finish it as fast as possible 😭 I never choose a pattern just to do it bc ik I will never finish it once I start 😭 sorry I’m very bad at explaining things

I often join a challenge so I stay motivated or it’s something I really want to knot! Like amyahhhh! You could even set a goal to achieve by the end of the year if you wanted! It all depends on what motivates you.

Sometimes when I don't want to make anything I ask friends/family if they would like a certain kind of bracelet and then that forces me to make and finish it!

@MmmDrywall I know it’s hard, but making it past all the imperfections you see is the only way to get better! I’d recommend following tutorials on new techniques and trying different pattern types to spice things up. I also find that playing a show or podcast or something of that nature in the background is helpful because you have additional entertainment and aren’t getting tired of knotting in silence

Choose a smaller pattern or make a keychain!

How I stay motivated is sometimes I use a bracelet as a small side project and bring it with me most places so if im bored i can work on it eventually it gets finished! If you’re not happy with the results tho still keep it and keep making bracelets so over the years you can see your progress! I hope this helps

Honestly, give yourself grace! Try having a goal of say 5 rows a day. Slow but steady wins the race. It's more managable. Omce you start finishing your projects, I think the excitment will help you become more motivated too!
