Do you tap your threads around cardboard or plastic?

Have you tried using bobbins? They're very cheap to buy in bulk or you can make them out of cardboard or a thick cardstock 😛

I keep mine on bobbins and in two different organizers. One of them has a large space under the second shelf, so that’s where I put some of the string I’m saving for projects or projects I’m in the middle of!

I have a box of little string bundles but mostly use these large spools of thin crochet string that I keep in a drawer

I usually use bobina but if I don’t have I just won’t my string around a pencil and put it in a pencil case it is less comfortable but if you don’t have bobins it is a good solution

You can buy a big pack of bobbins on Amazon but you can also make some out of cardboard like cereal boxes

Tried the bobbin route but I don’t have that energy or time anymore. I have always sorted by colour but I put neons on their own, sparkly/metallic strings on their own, and gradient/colour changing strings are on their own. If I want to see the colour changes in certain threads sometimes I wrap them on a bobbin. I used containers at one point now I just use plastic bags

I use bobbins but sometimes I just take an extra piece of string and tie it around each color so they are separate

i think i'm really lazy because i just take a shoebox and throw my string in it. i don't think it's the best way, but bobbins take way too long, and when i make alpha you need a full skein of thread.

I use bobbins and store them in an organizer box that have dividers. Then I organize them by colour and write down on the bobbins the colour number so I know in the future.

They’re all in a big 1 gallon plastic bag tangled up with eachother and then three sandwich bags, one with finished bracelets, one with unfinished bracelets and one with the scraps (I use for stuffing crochet plushies) then a box with a few that were wrapped around the plastic bobbins (which I gave up on doing bc it was too much work). All this in a tote bag I got for free at my college 😭😭 I deal with the tangles but it’s actually not that bad, I try to wrap them up and put their little paper tube that embroidery comes in

My strings are organised by brand (dmc and ariadna) and i store them in those plastic airport bags that you put liquids into 😭 I also have a different bag for scraps and string that I don’t know the brand of ^^

I keep mine on bobbins and originally kept the threads in the packaging they came in however it split so I've taken to storing everything in a food bag. It's good for portability but it means I have to tip the entire thing out in search of the colours I want which can be quite annoying because the bobbins come undone slightly and it gets tangled quite easily, so I think plastic storage boxes is probably the best way to go. I also plan on labeling the bobbins so I can more easily track what colours I use in each bracelet. I plan on going with the system

I accidentally cut myself off 😭 What I was going to say about the system I plan to use is take the first initially of the color and number it from dark to light (e.g: 'B' for blue and 'B1' would be my darkest shade of blue whilst 'B10' would be my lightest). But yeah with my current food bag storage, I do group colours, so I'll put all the reds in together, all the oranges together, etc. I used to put everything back in rainbow order every time, but now I just put the groups of colours back in any order.
