Different techniques, which one(s) do you recommend to give a try?

Hi everyone!I just recently got back into bracelet making again, after a very long break. When I was a child I only created the most simple patterns, but now as an adult I really enjoy to go for the more complex patterns - also giving myself more of a challenge. I have discovered that there are several ways (techniques) to start and finish a bracelet, but also different ways of knotting itself. I find it really a lot of fun to play with these techniques! What techniques have you tried so far and which ones did you specifically enjoy the most? Is there a specific technique that you would absolutely recommend to give a try? So far I have tried these techniques: - Knotting by row and working in segments - Creating a knotted loop, one colour and multicolour - Creating a triangle start and finish - Making a bracelet adjustable with a sliding knot - Adding a button - Adding two threads on both sides to get a ‘straight edge’ (creates an amazing border at the back!) Techniques/ ideas for the future: - Using the triangle start and finishing technique to create earrings - Alpha patterns |

I totally forgot to add one technique that I’ve tried as well and that I really loved - 3D leaves 😊 I absolutely want to play more with shaped patterns. Do you have any specific recommendations? |

@enne Thank you for the idea and the link, definitely an interesting add! And yes, bookmarks are a great idea as well - I think that might be a great way to get started with alpha patterns 😊

@MidnightTH Thank you for your ideas!I haven’t tried alpha patterns yet, so no. What does the ‘clean back technique’ mean? Do you have a link perhaps? Oh yes, charms are a wonderful idea as well! A dreamcatcher? I would have never thought about that to be honest. I might have to google that one to get a better idea of how that could work. I’m thinking chocker necklaces as well. So cool, the possibilities really do seem endless! 😊 |
