Whenever I try to make an alpha, It ends up looking stretched out and elongated compared to the original pattern. Has anyone experienced this and know why it happens? What are some ways I can prevent/ avoid this? Thanks! |

In general, alphas are often slightly elongated because by nature, the knots we make are slightly longer than they are wide. but, this can change based on the tension/tightness with which you tie your knots (a little loser is often more “square”) as well as the width of the strings you are using as base strings (thicker base strings means a wider knot)
