my bracelets are looking like hourglasses

for some reason when i make bracelets they always get bigger and then smaller and then bigger again and create this sort of hourglass effect can someone please tell me what i am doing wrong?

Oh ok, maybe it could happen if you’re not applying the same amount of pressure when you make each knot

It could also be that when you tie the knots, you pull the strings in different directions. I usually make sure to hold the string I'm knotting on straight up-and-down. It could have to do with knot tension, if the tightness of the knot is inconsistent then it could create that wave effect.
