so basically in every alpha, I do as soon as I add a new color of string that whole area becomes super bumpy and messy and when I have to switch the area with the same colored string, and I pull it to go across to another base string it almost drags not all the way over and ruins the pattern. But the main problem is the fact that whenever I add a new colored string, it becomes bumpy and it’s not neat at all.

Are you using the flat alpha technique? If no, I recommend trying it out. MashaKnots has a good video on it.

You could also try the clean back alpha technique. MashaKnots also has a video for that!

what’s the difference between the flat alpha technique and the regular Alpha technique? I can’t figure out which one I’ve been doing

@AbiAbiAbi it's the way you do colour switches. In the flat alpha technique, the leading string of the previous colour gets put through the first knot of the new colour. In the regular technique the knots aren't connected like this during colour switches.
