Hi, so whenever I make alphas, I never know how to change colors on the end using the straight edge technique. For example, if the pattern has like a border color. How would I use the straight edge technique with a pattern like #41347?

For borders I tend to taking the old leading strings and knot on to both the edge base string and old leading string using the border colour. Then when I do the next knot for the next row I leave aside the other colour and use the border colour to knot on the edge before I go back to a normal colour change on the 2 base string

I could possibly at some point make a 1 minute video on it.

2006_Mandy I think I understand, so you basically just knot over your old leading color and the base string with your edge color. Then on the next row, you leave out the old color and just do a normal backward/forward or forward/backward knot. If you could do a tutorial on it, that would be really appreciated. Thank you so much for your answer though! 😄

I’m not the best at alphas, but instead of doing the flat alpha switch on the edges, do a regular color switch. I hope I got what you meant 😂 💕

I actually found how to do the technique in Masha Knots alpha video. She talks about it near the end.

Oh ok well the method I said there is a different way than most people do it. I’m pretty sure masha knots just changes it normally like @DaniaAhmed is talking about. You put the old leading string under your bracelet and knot with the colour you are using for the edges however with a border if you do this you won’t be connecting the edge base string and the 2nd closest base string to the edge therefore that is why I suggested the above

Oh ok thank you. For now, I just cross the new string over the old leading string and do a backward/forward knot or a forward/backward knot.

Well I’m going to make a tutorial anyways because otherwise you’ll never understand what I mean
