@potato2856 You could, but it won't end up looking exactly like the normal pattern. If you visualize the knot pattern of a Brickstitch Alpha vs. a Normal pattern, the Brickstitch Alpha knots are organized like the holes of a honeycomb, and the Normal pattern knots are organized like a diamond grid. I recommend plotting out a Normal pattern design in the BeadTool generator before making the pattern so you don't risk it looking bad.

The way the knots are oriented looks very similar to normal patterns, does that mean I could make a normal pattern with alpha techniques? Or am I looking to far into it 🤔

@larice20: From what I've found, not really; although I may not have played around with it enough.

Does the clean alpha back technique work for this technique?

@plantname It does work, but you may want to plot it out in the brickstitch generator to make sure it looks good before you try it.

@plantname it should probably work with normal patterns too 🙂

for the pattern would you need to follow that certain brickstitch pattern or could you also use normal patterns grid patterns? they look similar to me but would it work? for the grid normal i mean the part that doesn't show the type of knots thats at the top of the (x) pattern

@Stitchlove it is structurally different. The knots are not right beneath each other but offset.

@clairehair, for this technique, would you want your knots tight or lose because I used this technique once and my knots are a bit on the tighter side and it didn't turn out the prettiest?

I love this and you did a great job explaining how to do it... but I'm confused on why you would make this an stead of any other alpha? Does the back look different? Does it look neater? @clairehair

Thanks!!
