clean: @GiuseppeK oh yes! i remember seeing that video a few days ago, basically the professor wrote, in white text, to use the word "Madagascar" without context. the idea was that if you wrote the paper yourself you wouldn't see the white text. if you copy-pasted it into AI then the AI would catch it.

GiuseppeK: @clean 32 papers (just checked), and all of them contained the same verbatim non-sequitur about "Madagascar." The professor himself personally added "an invisible trap in white text" (what that means, no idea--I'm way too much of a 20th century fox to understand the particulars).

GiuseppeK: @clean Well, I believe students are still expected to write, although technology seems to do the actual work in current era. I don't remember the details, but seems not too long ago, a professor was able to ascertain that 30 out of 35 of his pupils had not only cheated, they couldn't've even been bothered to proofread.

clean: @GiuseppeK honestly, I'd be impressed if tutors as a general thing still exist, since there's hundreds, if not thousands, of AI "study tools" along with ChatGPT. in fact, I'd be impressed if people even wrote essays anymore. ChatGPT is actually banned at my school and on the very first page of the rules handbook, though one of my friends recently used ChatGPT because she didn't want to learn French grammar

clean: @GiuseppeK i agree, had the brothers Grimm fairytales been geared towards kids, the poor kids would have been traumatised. though since i'm no longer the target age for the family-friendly Disney adaptations, I find the brothers Grimm versions pretty entertaining.

clean: @Nainika HOLD UP WHAT? 7?! a 7 year old got poisoned and married!? when i was 7 i was jumping off tall trees. and drawing unicorns and shimmer and shine. i've heard that the brothers Grimm's fairytales were way darker, and the disney adaptations were geared for kids though, so maybe Snow White being 7 is from the original version from the brothers Grimm and I think Snow White is 14 in the disney version
