@icalluher usually I measure the string from my left hand to my right shoulder. I am not sure how many centimeters that is. Sometimes I end up with strings being too long or too short but if you look at the pattern and how much each string is used you can use that to estimate which strings you need to cut longer than usual and which you need to cut shorter.
