Greatest accomplishment. I have 69 friends!!!!! Reached on May 6. Congratulations to meeee and thank you to all of my wonderful friends!!
Lost on May 10, 2022 but that's ok we can still celebrate!
I have an issue with my school dress code. While it may not be as strict as other schools, it is a constant source of annoyance for me. Girls are not allowed to show their stomachs, their shoulders, or wear skirts and shorts above their fingertips. It is so frustrating to come to school showing 1 inch of my stomach, and be told by a teacher to โcover myself, for godโs sake.โ Now, first of all, I'm not religious. Second of all, why is it a problem to show 1 inch of my midriff? So I asked her, I said โwhy should I cover myself, I'm not bothering anyone.โ To which she told me that that was just the rule, and it always had been. Now, I grew up conscious that all my life I would have to watch out for boys, and that as a woman i would never be able to let my guard down. Which by the way, is a horrible thing to have to grow up with and can we please stop sexualizing women? But anyway i knew that what she really meant was that the inch of my stomach showing was going to distract the other boys in my class, students and teachers, from completing their work. That, of course, was silly. If a guy couldnโt stay focused in class it was not because he was looking at me, especially not because he was looking at my stomach. And i swear to god he better not be because i will beat his ass. So i told her, โwhy should i have to hide my โจbeautiful bodyโจ because someone else is distracted. And why am i getting in trouble when the boys watching me in class is not?โ I was pleased to discover that she was speechless. But she called my parents.
Now, are my shoulders really that distracting? My stomach? Two inches of my thy and nobly knees? Didnโt think so.
Dressing how we want is a way to express ourselves. It tells other people how we read. It tells people im gay. It is a basic human right.
Obviously, school is supposed to prepare you for the workplace. It teaches you how to behave in society. The dress code is partly there to show us what the social expectations are, and not to show up at a job interview in a crop top. But I also feel like, that is common knowledge. Society is different from school. Especially because I am in middle school, and I feel like right now I am more focused on discovering myself and my style than learning how to dress for a job interview. That is a high-school thing. But none of the high schools in my area enforce dress codes, and their graduates are fine. so apparently they are more in tune with what is actually helping us learn things.
What do you think telling girls to hide their stomachs does to their self-esteem. So many of us are already self-conscious about how we look, and if by chance we feel comfortable enough to show off our midriff or shoulders or thies, please don't tell us that somehow our bodies are wrong. That they should be hidden. We are not living in the 18th century, come on guys.
My point is, that when I come to school on a tank top in the summertime, please don't tell me to put a jacket on. My shoulders are not harming anyone, they are not bothering anyone, they are not distracting anyone, they are not offensive, they are part of me. there is nothing wrong with me, or my shoulders.

I am a huge activist and I wish everyone thought like me, the world would be better (my personal opinion) but that will never happen. If you disagree with one of my topics, I would love to have a very passive-aggressive conversation about it, so message me.
I am a writer. so far mostly fanfiction, but also working on some collaboration novels. Likely I will never finish any works, but I'm working on it. My writing is a window to my soul, I don't keep a diary, it basically is my diary. I've been in denial of this fact for years because I really really enjoy putting my characters through torture. tourment. heartbreak. death. what does that say about me? so now I'm sad that I even think about that. But if you would like to see how far that pain goes feel free to check out my wattpad page. @dakmazs is my username.
Can we talk about how we have so many todos and then we spend our time making new bracelets and looking for more to add to our todos?
There will be no hate on this account EVER and if you bring hate then you can leave. Message me if you want, but if you say something negative, I will ignore you.
Hint hint, I have a problem. a ranting problem. that dress code thing is only the beginning. I could rant about lots of everything all day. so once again, if you want to rant/argue with me feel free to message me.
