Hello bracelet friends! I am a 50-year-old HSP. I suffer from anxiety and depression and require a lot of time to myself. Tying knots helps to keep my busy mind from wandering into dark places. Started making these as a teenager in the 90โ€™s but picked it up again in July of 2020 to help me cope with the crazy year (and the years havenโ€™t been getting any less crazy).โค๏ธโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ

I live in St. Petersburg, Florida with my husband and my Pomeranian.

My bracelets are made using Alize Forever yarn, embroidery floss and sometimes hand-dyed DMC Perle, which I purchase on Etsy from @KreationKaos

MY TIPS:
If you are really into this hobby, I highly recommend making a bulk purchase of Alize Forever yarn on Etsy. Most sellers are in Turkey but Iโ€™ve never had a problem with any of my orders and they provide tracking the whole way. Itโ€™s lovely to knot with. Itโ€™s a bigger investment but so much more bang for your buck than DMC embroidery floss. Each skein has 328 yards. When using Alize Forever Simli in your bracelet, tie a little knot in the end of your cut strings to keep the metallic piece from unraveling from the strand.

When starting a bracelet, I hang all my cut strings together over a hook on my door and steam them. It gets the stretch out and smoothes any wrinkles before I begin.

After my bracelet is complete, I place it under a wash cloth and run an iron over it on low heat which secures the knots and makes the bracelet buttery-soft and flexible. Make sure you donโ€™t put the iron directly on the bracelet - you could melt or burn it depending on what your strings are made of.
