@obalk24 You can either just leave the strings, in the open space so it won't exactly looked like a clear hole, or you can tie them into the few knots along the perimeter of the hole, if that makes sense. Sometimes I like to put a bead around the unknotted strings so that there is a bead in place of the hole. There's a photo of my variation of pattern #36659 if you wanna see as a reference.
