@amharris on the left edge, you add two extra strings (one per extra colour). With those two strings you only make fb knots except at point where there are two f knots between the two strings from the original pattern. You just extend that diagonal and make 4 f knots starting from the edge instead of just 2.

On the right edge you do the same but with bf and b knots.

What if i wanted to add 2 more colors on the outside? How would i do that?
