@minutcraft I was doing #119397 in the 40 string alternative with my strings doubled up to make a coin pouch/card holder. I did the first little bit and the sizing wasn't coming out right. So I unpicked it all and made a new pattern that I can actually calculate the size correctly and use in single threads. I put all the things I liked from the original pattern in, made it a bit more art deco to my preference, and went from there. My pouch is 66 strings and should end up the perfect size to hold about 3 cards.

It's probably best to start row by row, but it's a bit of both in certain spots. The black on the edges can be segment knotted and most in the medallion except the very middle. And if you are using the colors as is instead of adding more, you can just keep going with the same string until there is a color change. Hope that made sense.

Beautiful pattern but should I segment knot or do row by row 🤔❤️❤️

The pattern is written in a way that every string not black can be a different color. If you have two strings the same color intersecting, feel free to sub in a forward or backward knot.
