Yeah! It's a great question. I picked up a bracelet making device and kit around this time last year, to relearn this craft. It had the use of the buttons as part of its directions, so I just picked it up as normal. I love it. The button can slide up and down the cords to get to just the right spot / size for the wearer. Then, the ties can be tied behind the button, and trimmed short if desired. Therefore, If I make the 'live' area of the bracelet shorter than, say, I wear it, the bracelet can be sized for anyone with a wrist smaller or larger than my own. The button then makes the bracelet quick and easy to remove each day. When I was young, I would tie on bracelets and leave them there for months. I have no desire to do that anymore. Tying and untying would be a drag, so the button works best for me. I have one bracelet that I made for me, and I didn't trim the ties, but tuck then in under the bracelet after I place it on. I have pictures posted on Reddit of it in action, if you're interested. There's a subreddit called friendshipbracelets and the pictures are in the "July Competes Roundup" I made. Hope this is helpful ❤️
@ab_crafts So I’m trying to figure out why you have both a button and the ties. I’m a fan of just a button. I use them on most of mine now. I picked bracelets back up during Covid and the ties get wet and that freaked my germ 🦠 OCD back then. So I’m not familiar with different ways to use ties. Do the button and ties work together somehow? Just curious 🧐
