@wetmouse going away from the red I have used the red to tie half a knot (1 instead of 2) onto the next base string before tying the knot of that color and use the other color before you tie the red knot on its base string the same way
i did the inverse with the red on the navy's base string so the red side's knots wouldn't get disproportionately long compared to the rest of the bracelet
if anyone else is worried about the red part seeming kinda detached from the rest of the alpha while you're knotting like i was, i started adding half a knot of the navy to the right of the two base strings with red on the even numbered rows in order to reinforce it
