It depends. Some people like alpha and some people like normals. If you are a beginner, I would recommend trying normals first.

normal patterns are easier for me and i prefer them to alphas. i’m more experienced with them and they are more enjoyable for me because of segment knotting. alphas you have to go row by row but with normals you can segment knot which makes the process a lot faster and more fun. i do like alphas and i’m trying to get more experience with them, but as of right now, i definitely prefer normals 🙂

I prefer making normal ones but I like how you can make basically any designs with alphas so i'm trying to practice doing some alphas. I just find they take so long for me to do and sometimes they aren't straight.

I think normal patterns are easier. I can make alphas they just aren’t that fun for me. 😊
