I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, (maybe I have to message a moderator?) but I was wondering if the guidelines apply to peoples bios? It's just that sometimes I've seen people specifically say they're against LGBTQ+ rights which to me feels like it goes againts the guidelines of a) not discussing politics & b) creating a welcoming and positive community. Is this something that is supposed to be reported?? If I am wrong, I am very sorry about making this post, I don't mean to upset anybody I just am genuinely wanting to follow the guidelines accurately.

I mean, i would rather let people have it, it lets me know who I should avoid. But I do understand that it would 100% create a more welcoming space.

All of you make really good points! It is disheartening to see, and I guess people are free to believe what they like but I do find the need to announce it a bit confusing

It's against the guidelines for reason b, not reason a. Reason a would only be if they mentioned a specific politician or political party or something along those lines. Expressing support or dislike of the lgbt community is not a political statement in what braceletbook defines as political. We kept our definition of politics very limited so it does not include topics that aren't inherently political such as gender and sexuality and also race and religion. You can report any bio content that you feel violates our guidelines but it is up to you if you do or don't. |
