blanket with bracelet technique?

I was wondering if it is possible to make a bracelet using the half hitches/knots or techniques the same way you would make an alpha bracelet to make a blanket. for me, i think it makes the most sense to use thick yarn. it seems possible and was wondering if anyone has any input that would help? i dont crochet but do make plenty of bracelets lol which is why i am tempted to do it this way. this idea was sparked by alpha pattern #118886 so shout out!! I might just do a plain pattern of one color rather than try to follow a patter as that seems easiest.

I have seen someone make a rug using thick yarn. I’m not sure about a blanket tho. This is just because I feel like it would be stiffer than a regular blanket, as well as the fact that you will have to either do the clean back alpha technique, or cut all of the loose threads in the back. It MIGHT work as like a decorative blanket that you don’t use, but I don’t know if it would work well as a sleeping blanket.
