why do some patterns that you make get declined?

Your pattern could get declined for different reasons, using dark colours, too similar colours, etc. It always comes with a notification explaining why it was declined though. 🙂

There are a number of reasons. The colors are too similar, colors are too dark (333333 is the darkest black we accept), you need at least 4 keywords that describe the pattern, the pattern is too simple or too messy, the pattern is too similar to an existing pattern, or the pattern looks distorted.

There should always be a message at the top of the pattern's edit page saying why it was declined.
