Hello!! I’m in level nine and been doing gymnastics for 14 years! I’m wondering if anyone else does it, and what is your favorite or least favorite event and skill! Or anything related 🙂

I started doing wheel gymnastics this year. It's super fun, but also kind of scary. I wouldn't call myself a gymnast though. My skills are very limited and I'm just doing it for fun 🙃

I’ve been doing gymnastics for 12 years and I’m level 7 right now. I’m thinking about switching to more the tumbling side of gymnastics because bars and beam are hard and I get really bad injuries on them

I used to compete in gymnastics lvl 7 until i got really sick. I miss it everyday. I’m thinking of going back mostly to tumble. I am the biggest beam hater.

@61805327 I used to do competitive gymnastics since i was 4 but then I broke my arm at a meet when I was 11 in level 7. I eventually got better but never competed again, I did tumbling classes afterward and now I cheer for my school instead. I still really miss gymnastics and wish that I never did that back handspring on beam 😭

@emilyy307 yeah I can totally agree…Im actually so embarrassed so wear tank tops and anything backless outside the gym because it looks like I got beat up. That darn beam. Also I get so many questions about my hands and the rips lol

@RyanMarieS yikes I has a serious neck injury from tumbling and I stopped for like a year and then I went back and the mental blocks were crazy I still can’t do some skills because I’m so scared. I actually tried cheer for one year and I kept getting yelled at because my hands were not in fists and I kept saluting lol

@61805327 IK!! when i first started cheer, i could not get my hands to stay in fists because of muscle memory. I really enjoy cheering now but I also still love doing gymnastics moves on the ground or trampoline. What is your favorite skill to do on the ground/trampoline?

@ RyanMarieS I love doing double backs I just learned it like last week and I can’t stop doing them. I love doing back layouts on tramp, those never get old

Been doing Gymnastics for like a year and a half im only lvl 2 (i have also done silks trapeze and lira) I also kinda hate the beam, the bars just give me calcites and rips alot but overall its fun.

@celleta I would start by stretching at least 5 times a week for about 10 minutes, really working on your legs, hips, back and shoulders. I normally stretch at the gym or I do it while watching tv. Getting flexible is kinda strange. It takes longer than you think to have it but takes less effort to maintain it. I don’t know if that makes sense but since I have gotten flexible I don’t work on stretching as much as I used to. Just make sure you do a quick stretch before working on skills. Did that help!
