So I’m starting to get serious about writing books for the first time, and I would love to hear about other writers’ processes so I know what to expect. I would love to hear what your story is, are you still writing or is it published, how long has it taken, highs and lows of making a book, or literally anything else😁! I WILL NOT use any of your ideas for my story if you choose to share them, I am just genuinely curious about what’s going on with other writers. Well I write thrillers and I use websites to come up with plots or titles (I change them a bit so they’re not the same) but I will tell you you will get in at LEAST one writers block and it SUCKS. You could ask me for advice if you’d like. One of the books I’m writing actually came from something that happened to me. I work at a daycare and there was a spider (I dislike spiders) and then I lost track of it and I was talking to one kid and said “I can feel something breathing on me” and he said “I think it’s the spider” so, I started to write a book about a girl who goes down to the cellar in their house and sees a spider so she calls her big brother to come kill it so he comes and he gets there and the lights turn off and the brother is like “ i feel something breathing on me” and the the lights turn of and the girl says “I think it’s the spider” and the brother finds a flashlight and turns it on and behind the girl is a man

Writers block is the sole reason why i only have 3 chapters of my book, there's also running out of paper i'm just using a small memo note pad but the one time i tried writing a small comic i ran out of paper, so definitely watch out for that. Other then that i can't think of anything if i do tho i'll be sure to tell you! (Also can i just say i've spelt "sure" "shure" so many times😅)

How has your writing been going though? Personally, I've never ever experienced writers block. I take inspiration from everday life, conversations, things I witness... Especially in combination with by imagination lol. For the first book I wrote (I was 12, so it's nonsense, but was a good learning expereince) it took maybe 2-3 months? Granted it was covid so I had all the free time in the world, so could write all day everyday. But, as long as you write something everyday, a paragraph, a page, a chapter, whatever! You'll avoid writers block. Feel free to write out of chronological order. Maybe write your ending first so you know what you're working towards. Honestly, the lows are editing, and filling in, it's a bit boring. I recommend keep on reading, read more challenge books. It helps teach you how to construct a story, expands your vocabulary etc. Also, write what makes you happy, not to market as it'll only diluate your story and if you lose passion, you won't ever get it finished lol. I've not wanted to write a full novel since really, but I write short stories and enter competitions if/when I can to keep my skills strong, poetry for the love of it, and I do have some books living in my head, that I think I will actually bring to life this year. But when you have a good idea, snatch it and don't hesitate to start. The books in my head would probably be so much better if I had written at the time of their conception, and I had all the ideas of their world building fresh. Now I'm less familiar with their worlds, it'll take me a bit longer to get into the swing of things, if that makes sense? But it doesn't mean you can't! And hey, maybe a fresh mind will allow you to see previous flaws? Also, remember the first novel you write will not be uo to scratch to be your debut. Keep writing, refining, and write other books, then come back to it and re-write with more experience if it's an idea you're truly in love with. I hope this helps anyone who comes across this too!
