I’m an intermediate guitar player (I think) and I CANNOT for the absolute life of me figure out the stupid f chord in its barre form 😭😭😭😭 I can’t play it at all. I would just not learn how to play it but my teacher said it’s crucial and important. PLEASE give me tips on how to play barre chords( this one in particular). Any tips/tricks are MUCHHHH appreciated 😛

Uh my best advice is to use the bonier outside of your finger, and instead of pushing with your hand, pull your elbow backwards (as your hand alone isn't as strong as your full arm).

also, instead of just practicing the chord, play multiple non-barre and barred chords in a row, or move the same shape around on your fretboard. Using a capo might also help to lower your action and make the frets a bit closer :}

The bonier side of the finger seems to carry the day, and elbow placement might get us there.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BR7iHayA4VU (So don't fret.) |
