I just recently got into crocheting, (by recently I mean 2 weeks ago), an randomly made this so ppl can talk abt their crochet projects, and type any cute patterns they know abt in the chat, I'm personally an amigurumist bcz I'm to lazy, and I only have embroidery thread, my parents hate it whenever I talk abt crochet (they're kinda sexist 😢) so they took away the actual size string I had and used for my first crochet project (amigurumi octopus), 🎉 and wont let me use the hooks my mom has, so I just *stole one* and use it w/ embroidery thread. I'm hoping ppl actually see this and make a thriving community out of it. 🙂 🙂

here' a free translation box for common abbreviationssc=single crochet inc=increase Dec=decrease slst=slip stitch ch=chain BLO=back loop only bo=bobble stitch dc=double crochet bo's will tipically have the amount of loops you need to end up with before closing it . and any number inside parenthesis means the amount of stitches you need after a round (typically 4 amigurumi), feel free to edit and repost anywhere in this comment section. 🙂 |

One important info for people following English-language patterns: the UK and US terminology is slightly different, so make sure that you know which one your pattern is written in so you do the correct stitches.

Hey I too crochet! I’ve been crocheting for 4-5 years(Wow I can’t believe it’s been that long)! I crochet amigurumi dragons & other crazy mythical creatures! My first project was a coaster then it went to a mini octopus, to a taco, to the mythical creatures, cats, foods I crochet today!😊

I changed my mind, and this way I can technically give credit to the original creator, the link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIT7UaXLLX0 I made it, but the body is light purple, and starting from the bobble stitch row, (the little legs) it's a darker shade, but now I don't know what to do for the rest of the color scheme, should I do both ears the same dark purple of the legs (I ran out of light purple, that's the whole reason I made the leg dark purple) and what colors should I do for the facial features? thanks in advance to whoever helps 🙂

I was thinking red/blue/gold for the eyes, then a lavender (not quite dark purple, but not too light) for the whiskers, and a soft pink 4 the blush, and make the ears dark purple like I said, but I'm not sure, I need opinions.

My cat patterns are from a book I have called “Dumpling cats” by Sarah Sloyer. It has sooo many cats like Wilbur who has a bee costume or Roly who like to the watch the clouds go by. There are 25 cats + food bowls, cat bed, and a cardboard box! They are all sooooooo cute!!!!❤️🥰😊

my first one was a practice square, then I took it apart, and made a octopus, (the first pattern in this forum) now, I'm working on the mochi cat, I'm about to Finnish, also, midnightTH gave me some color suggestions, so don't worry about it. 🙂

i crohet too but i mostly use woobles, which come with everything u need. i love them so much! i ecourage u to look them up (i promise im not a robot the woble company sent to try and get more people to buy them guys im real and sitting here contemplating life lol)

The only thing I’ve crocheted so far is a chunky scarf but I’ve always wanted to learn! I found an absolutely adorable pattern for a crocheted top and aim to get there day. However, I have so little time that learning has been sidelined my list of things-I’ll-do-when-I’m-not-drowning-in-work lol
