What do you do for New Year's?

So I was just wondering if you do anything special for new year's eve/day, and if you do, what is it that you do? My grandpa is from Japan, so every New Year's day we get together and make some really yummy foods. My cousins are also really....energetic. So that part is sort of fun, too. |

(Unfortunately) for us it’s a normal day😔, but I usually stay up past 12 am to celebrate on my own. 😏

@MidnightTH Alright, I'm back now. The Cat is happy. Some people don't celebrate New Year's as much as others, but it is nice to be able to have your own small celebration. I did that when I was between 3 and 5 years old, to see fireworks in the skies above Dhaka, Bangladesh. I was tired afterward, but I will (most likely) never forget that night. |

For at least the fourth year running, I'm once again hunkered down in the bathroom (the closest thing to soundproof in this jungle hovel) with one of my furry companions. Usually fearless, nothing in the world spooks him like fireworks, and the neighbors have once again started early.Soooo, here I sit in a folding camping chair with him trembling on my foot, beer in hand and working on #89846 while "Africa" by Toto plays as loudly as we find tolerable on repeat, and will probably be here until at least 2AM. Temporarily making the avatar a photo from last New Year's Eve. Not complaining in the least. That little dude might've saved my life, and not looking forward to the year he's no longer with me. ❤️ |

@panda_ru1e Today is kinda a sucky New Year’s Eve for us because our dad is working on getting ready for a funeral on Saturday.😔 Our friend put it in his will that my dad must do his funeral. Hope yours is better.

Ever since 10 years old, my mum and I have a tradition of making vision boards together, and we then hang them in a special place in our house. Then, when it’s the evening, we have a special meal that we all prepare together as a family (my brothers are too young to help, so it’s just me and my parents) and we have some cake, and when it’s time to start the countdown, my parents let me have a bit of champagne with fruit syrup (usually raspberry) and we watch the fireworks in Paris (I live next to Versailles, but sadly not close enough to Paris to see them live, so we watch them on the TV). I then go to bed at around 00:30 and I wake up late in the morning since we just chill at home on New Year’s Day.

Just dinner with my mom and grandmother; my grandfather is sick, so he's never at the table for very longPersonally, I don't really like these dinner holidays like New Year's or Christmas call me grinch lol im just very introverted |

We don't do anything fancy on New Years Eve, and none of my family normally even stay up. 😂 But we do do a first day hike every year on New Years!

Me my cousins and my sister normally make a new years play, and make parody's, and choreograph it into a tiny musical. We normally make it comedy, but with a valuable lesson for the new year. We show it to our parents, and we all normally get a huge laugh out of it 😂 . After that we all go outside on the balcony and watch the towns fireworks 🎉 . Then me, my sister, and cousin, normally stay up until midnight and make a big deal when it hits 12:00. We all say the most random funny words to be our first words of the year 😂.
