I'm American, but my mom is Dutch. Her parents immigrated to Canada as children, and they know the language, but they didn't teach my mom. My dad's side of the family is German, but they've been living in the USA since the 1800s. Fellow Americans, where do your roots go back to?? |

My mom’s side is Hispanic, and my dad’s family is from Trinidad and Tobago. In the 1800s labors from India were sent to Trinidad, and my grandparents grew up in Trinidad and immigrated to the U.S. in 1968. (I had to do a PowerPoint and essay about my family.) 🤪

Both my parents are Aussies and have lived in Australia their whole life, but my dad's dad is from Scotland, and came to Australia when he was young, so yeah, about 90% Aussie and 10% Scottish! ( i cannot do the accent for the life of me 😂)

I'm an Aussie, but I have Scottish roots and British roots too. One of my Grandmothers was born in Kenya and raised there before coming to Australia, but I'm 4/5 gen Australian (depends on which side of the family your asking about). Supposedly we have ties to the first Governor General of South Australia??

my great great grandpa (dad’s side) immigrated here from Czechoslovakia (before it split). I don’t know where my mom’s side originated from, but that we’ve been in America for a long time, long enough that I’m directly related to President Truman 😅 according to my grandma
