I cut out early. My grandparents don’t think the same way & they seem frustrated with us for that. It gets hard to talk about that subject with people.

@swimmer1what I meant is she has a wife. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. It gets hard to mention that.

I think that God made everyone perfectly and loves all his children. I absolutely think you can be LGBTQIA+ and Christian!

@MidnightTH Throughout history, religion has been used as a light to lead people through whatever darkness that existed in their lives. Though I am not religious myself, I view religion as a way for people to be unified through their love for God and for one another. I firmly believe that everyone has a right to be themselves, and they shouldn’t experience hate because of it. There is nothing wrong about simply being who you are.

@blackcat79 We do not hate LGBTQ+ people we just don’t agree with them. My dad takes to heart that we don’t surround ourselves in sin meaning we don’t spend time with them deliberately.

I am saddened by how society has turned the rainbow, which was once a symbol of God’s promise never to flood the earth again, into something I cannot agree with. 😭😞 It breaks my heart cause I can’t go anywhere wearing a rainbow bracelet without getting asked about LGBTQ+!

@MidnightTH I 100% agree, it is really sad, me and my friend were talking about that, that when we see a rainbow it reminds us of LGBTQ which is reeeeally sad because the Bible specifically says it’s a reminder of Gods promise. It breaks my heart honestly

I am saddened by how society has continued to teach hate and discrimination to younger generations, adding on to the stigmas that LGBTQIA+ people face. It breaks my heart that people keep disguising their homophobia through “I simply don’t agree with it.” If people only disagree with it, why are LGBTQIA+ people seen as sinful for simply being the way they are? All people were created equal and have the right to have the respect of others. I don’t want to start any fights as this is supposed to just be a conversation on a wholesome platform, I just hope to provide some food for thought that might be able to make you stop for even a moment to reconsider your outlooks

@blackcat79 since you’ve displayed you are non religious I can safely say your idea is wrong, considering I have been a Christian and raised in a Christian loving home since I was born

And I strongly believe and know that if you are a Christian you will follow all the verses of the Bible, and one verse in Genesis says that man and woman were created for each other, and that’s how it is meant to be, and it specifically says NOT women and women, not men, and men, but one woman and one man, so if you are not following that law, you are specifically breaking it, which means you can’t be a full Christ following Christian because Jesus says, and I quote, “if and of you love Me, you will keep my commandments.” Therefore, if you break the law of the LORD, you don’t love Jesus fully, and that is the whole, “ how to become a Christian” thing.

Also, in Genesis the Bible says, “God saw all that he made and it was very good.” That includes men/women. So if we were made perfectly and God says all you need to change about yourself is to turn from sin to Him, you should not be changing your gender

Farther more, I strongly disagree with what you said @blackcat79 , most Christian’s do not discriminate against lgbtq people, they just know that they are not following Jesus, and choose not to support them. It actually saddened me to see that the LORDS people, (Christian) have been here from day one, and have been hated on for their beliefs and then lgbtq people swooped in and changed what Christian’s have been fighting for for hundreds of years, to something bad.

I find it strange that lgbtq people claim to be discriminated against by Christian’s, and then straight up discriminate against Christians.

@swimmer1 I agree with everything you have said.@blackcat79 Most Christian’s do not hate or discriminate the person specifically, but their choice and actions that are against what God said not do, but since mankind disobeyed God in Genesis all mankind after that has been born in sin.

I had no intention of insinuating that all Christians discriminate against LGBTQIA+ people and that is sincerely not my belief- merely that it’s sad that there has continued to be a systematic stigmatization against this group of people, and it should have been eradicated long ago

@blackcat79 I’m not saying all Christians don’t discriminate, some do. I find that sad when Christian’s do discriminate LGBTQIA+ because people have choice to obey or disobey God.

@blackcat79 There are plenty of Christian’s who are LGBTQIA+(like my aunt for instance) just because they are doing something wrong in someone’s eyes doesn’t mean they are terrible people. “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”, to me is don’t judge someone of their appearance but by their spirit or how they react to a situation. My intention is not upset anybody, but to make my point clear.
