I prefer backward knots soooo much... even though the first candy stripe I ever made was all forward knots! I think it is something about how fluid the motion is for me to do backward knots...which can only be achieved with forward knots if a switch hands, which feels very awkward. It may have something to do with the fact that I am left-handed. Which is your favorite and why? I'm intrigued! |

Definitely forward knots, I can do them soooo much faster and I used to only make candy stripes with forward knots so I have practiced them way more 😃

honestly forward knots. it depends on personal preference but i’ve had so much more practice with them (candy stripe being my first ever bracelet). It just comes a lot more easier to me and i really like finishing bracelets fast, i’m sure everyone does.

Forward knots when doing my knots in the upside down style (how I learned), backward knots when doing knots the "normal" style.

I'm a different case than most people probably lol, I'm actually better at backwards knots in normal patterns, however in alphas I am much faster at forward knots because I prefer to use bobbins and I'm more coordinated with them when using my right hand to make the knot rather than my left (since I generally use left for backwards and right for forwards)

definitely backward knots. it’s just easier for me and i can go faster. another question for you guys: do you switch hands for different knots? like for forward knots your right hand and backward knots your left hand. i’m just curious haha

backward bc they’re easier as a leftie. Forward-backward are a struggle for me, especially when doing a triangle loop

@tkd2010 Nope! my left hand holds the string and my right hand does the knotting. I could go faster with forward knots if i switched hands but it feels really awkward.

I'm right handed, so backward knots are a lot faster for me. Definitely backward knots

I'm a leftie and im more fluid at making forward knots, so it's not really a leftie thing imo. just personal experience to each!

@tkd2010 I don't switch hands when making different knots, I just feel as if it would complicate my knotting lol. I think I make my knots with my left hand and take the base string with my right one, and I once tried one to do the opposite but it just made my knotting complicated 😂

I feel that forward knots are easier, probably because I learned how to do them first! They just make more sense for my hands and I can do them faster 😄
