Alphas with more than 40 strings

Hey everyone. I’m new to triangle starts and I’ve noticed that almost all alphas with more than 40 strings have a straight line start instead of a single triangle start. Does using a triangle start with that many strings distort the image or is it personal preference?

i think it is just personal preference, since the triangles would have to be quite large

that may be a personal preference since triangle ends on both sides adds the rows equal to the base strings (i.e. 40 strings means that in addition the pattern, 40 potentially empty rows will be added). it's no hard law or anything, sometimes it's fun to add additional smaller patterns in the those large triangle spaces

Definitely personal preference. I see a lot of people do two triangle ends and a loop for large alphas like that. One singular triangle works just as well but it is a little bulky. If you like it, do it! 🔥
