tips for segment knotting?

I'm new to segment knotting and if love a few tips for it!

start with patterns that have long diagonal lines of one color. that’s why patterns such as the candystripe and the chevron are great patterns to learn segment knotting with. another tip i have is to watch pattern tutorials on youtube and most importantly follow them. masha knots and alex’s innovations have some great pattern tutorials and if you knot along with them, you’ll get a really good feel for segment knotting. also, draw in your segments. i don’t do this anymore because i’m getting a lot more experienced at segment knotting, but drawing in your segments will give you an organized visual for which segments you need to knot and when. finally, don’t worry if it’s difficult the first time. it gets a lot easier and more fun the more you practice segment knotting. hope that helps!

The thing that helps me most is just picking out shapes like diamonds or triangles and going from there!
