Hello everyone!! 🙂
I was curious if a needlepoint and/or crosstitch pattern could be used to make alphas. Could every square be a knot? I know it's not as clear as BraceletBook's pattern chart (the best!) but there are just sooo many cute needlepoint patterns out there that I'd love to try!

I know there's the option to make my own design but I'm not great at it and it takes me ages.

I'd love to know if anyone's tried this and has had success?
Thank you in advance!

You can use any grid pattern to make alphas from.

What you can't replicate in alphas is half stitches but if every stitch is a full square, you can use the pattern.

If the pattern has stitched outlines, you can stitch those onto the alpha.

I exclusively do cross stitch with the alpha patterns! I have a few pictures of some of the things i've made with patterns on the site.

The main drawback of using alpha patterns is that you can't do backstitches (I don't like them, but you can always add them to a pattern) and finding the right colors. Being able to find the right color thread for a pattern can take some time and sometimes there isn't a perfect color.

To translate an alpha pattern to a cross stitch, one knot=one cross stitch
